Value Life is Gladesmore Community School's anti gun and knife crime active citizenship community initiative. The campaign was started by nine Gladesmore students in 2003 and has been ongoing. The aim of the campaign is not only to eradicate gun and knife crime but also to empower students to maximise their potential.
Due to the campaign's success, we have formed partnerships with the majority of secondary schools in Haringey. The campaign has also extended beyond the boundaries of Haringey and we have worked with schools from across the capital including Westminster, Hounslow, Hackney, Enfield and Waltham Forest.
The Value Life team has organised a variety of events over the years including Peace Walks, rallies, conferences, festivals, a fly on the wall documentary on how to run an effective citizenship campaign and a 25 minute short film which was premiered at a central London cinema. Most recently, we commissioned a Value Life installation to launch our 2011 event which was attended by Mayor of London Boris Johnson, Deputy Mayor Kit Malthouse and MP for Tottenham David Lammy.
Value Life is dedicated to transforming communities by empowering young people by harnessing their special talents and abilities to bring atout meaningful change.
